There is no need to be gloomy during these tough times

When times are bad
When nobody ever care
On whatever had happened in the world
That is when you must give yourself a pat
On the back
For being able to see yourself through
The difficult times

Though life seems moody
You don't have to be gloomy
Just sing a tune in your heart
Because there is no wrong for being happy
Nor any credit given for being gloomy

Let not your happiness be affected
By things you cannot control
For whether you are happy or sad
Things just happens anyway
And when you are always happy
You will suffer less
Than if you are always
Sad and worried

So let no one take away your joy
For a happy person is a healthy person
And a healthy person is more effective
In anything that he does.

The Goodness of Love

Another poem I was inspired to write.

To love is better than to hate
To cherish than to disdain
The person who loves thinks the best of others
He will not covet what others have
He will think on how he would bless others

Throughout the centuries if all kings walk in love
They would not have conquered other lands
They would have worked along with other kings
On how to be a blessing to each country
For the good of both sides

Throughout the centuries if all kings
Or the all the leaders of each countries
Have love in their hearts
They would all shared their resources together
To help those who are in need

Oh how we would be spared of world wars
Oh how we would be spared of tragedies
Oh how we would be spared of fear
Oh how we would be spared of lack
Oh how we would love each other!

A person with a heart full of love
Is happier than a person whose heart full of hatred
For a heart full of love (which is happier)
Is healthier than a heart full of hatred
Healthy heart begets healthy body
Healthy bodies begets strong immunity system
Against disease like H1N1!

Love does not keep records
Of the wrong that is done
A person who loves forgives easily
For to forgive frees us from carrying a burden
That does not belong to us
To forgive frees us to have joy in our hearts
For why would we let anyone take away our joy
By holding grudges and bitterness in our hearts?

The world needs love
Everyone needs to love
Love is a powerful force
To love all people
To love all nations
And love starts with us!

The Father's Love

A poem that depicts the love of a father towards his two sons

When you were just a baby
I held you in my arms
I cherish you in every way
No matter what others think of you

While you were learning to walk
I was there by your side
Watching your every step
Ready to catch you if you fall

When you are grown
And strong
You turned against me
You want to live you own way

You demanded your inheritance from me
Before the time
You wanted to live your own way
You felt you don't need me anymore

I gave you what you wanted
You took it and left
Without saying a proper goodbye

I could have sent you on your way
With my blessings
With a farewell feast
Because I loved you

Since you have gone
My heart longed for you
I longed for the day you come back
I longed to welcome you back with open arms

Morning after morning
Evening after evening
I waited to see if you come back
Waited for the slightest sight of you

Finally the day cameI saw you running towards me
You looked haggard
You were in rags

You said you wanted to be my servant
Instead of my son
But how could I give up my love for you?
How could I stop loving you?

I welcomed you back with open arms
As if you were back from the dead
For you are always my son
Flesh of my flesh
Bone of my bone

I restored to you what you have lost
I gave you new clothes
New sandals
So that you will not be ashamed

I forgave you all that you have done
None of them I will remember
I only know you are my beloved son
And you will always be

But your brother does not forgive you
He is ever envious toward you
He thinks I love you more than him
And he worked so hard for me

Oh, that both of you should know
That I love you both
More that I loved myself

If your brother would just ask me anything
I would have given it
I would not hold anything back

I will always love you both
The love I have for you
Can never be earned by works
This love that I have is unconditional

If I am to give my life in exchange for you
I would have given it
Without a slightest hesitation
Without any regret

My childhood pleasant memories 1

A poem that I was inspired to write.
This poem is about the expression of someone who used to live in rural area as a child, but later as he grew, he saw that the place that he lived went through a lot of changes, and his coping with the changes. The events and characters are purely fictional and any resemblance are purely conincidential.

I remembered the time
When I was, but a child
Breakfast cost no more than a dime
The days when life was simple
The pace was slower
And a lot less chaotic

Those are the days
When the morning comes,
The sun gives it's smile
The birds sang so sweetly
The rooster crowed
The cool morning breeze
Makes starting a day pleasant

Walking through the meadow
Walking on the soft green grass
To school or to work
Hearing the birds singing
Feeling the cool morning breeze
And watching the beautiful lilies in the field
Will always make one walking
With ease and with a smile

Even in the evening
As the day came to an end
And the night began to fall
The sight of the sunset
Was so awesomely beautiful
And the beauty of it
Always makes one praises its Creator

But as time passed
Changes came on every side
Some new things came
Some old things gone
Changes are inevitable
Some changes are even necessary

The pleasant sound of birds singing
And the sound of rooster crowing
Are replaced by sound of automobiles and alarm clocks
The soft green grass are replaced
By the cold hard pavement
The sight of the lilies of the field
Are replaced by the sight of cold hard concrete buildings

One who used to walk with ease
And with a smile
On the soft green grass
Now have to look over his shoulders
While walking on the cold hard pavement
For any cyclist coming his way
In order to avoid being hit by them unintentionally
One who used to walk with ease
And with a smile
Now have to look over his shoulders
For any motorcycles and sports cars coming his way
In order to avoid being hit by them unintentionally

But in spite of these changes
Not everything have changed
Not everything have gone
If one but notice
That on the playground
Children are still playing happily
We can still notice their joy
And hear their laughter as they were playing
For they hardly notice the changes

We can all adapt to changes
Because in this world changes are inevitable
We can make do with things that we don't have
We can rejoice in things that we have
We can be thankful for each day that comes
For no one can take away our joy
Unless we allow them to
